"How sweet Eman is when it's beautified with Knowledge.<br />
And how sweet Knowledge is when it's beautified with Implementation.<br />
And how sweet Implementation is when it's beautified with Kindness.<br />
<br />
The greatest pair of things is Implementation coupled with Kindness."<br />

The Granddaddy excuse of all time is, "I'd love to, really, I really would ... I JUST DO NOT HAVE ANY TIME!!!"<br />
<br />
As in:<br />
<i><span style="color: red;">"I'd like to attend an Islamic class this weekend, but I've just got so many things to do."<br />
"I'd like to buckle down and get proactive in getting married, but I'm just so busy with school."<br />
"I have big da'wah dreams, but I'm just so busy with everyday life."<br />
"I'd like to spend more time with my kids, but I just don't know where the time goes."</span></i><br />
<br />
<b>ERADICATING THE "TIME" EXCUSES</b><br />
Here's how we are going to do it, in sha Allah:<br />
>> Starting this Wednesday, and throughout the month, I'm going to be <i><b>focusing </b></i>on this topic of time in my emails, blog posts, webinars, etc.<br />
<br />
>> I'm preparing a <b><i>7 part blog series</i></b>, complete with graphics, to give you the most important of important time tactics<br />
<br />
>> I'm going to prepare a <b><i>power webinar</i></b> on the topic<br />
<br />
>> And for those who want to rev it to the next level, this will correspond to the <b><i>first-time-ever release</i></b> of the complete DiscoverU seminar entitled "Live Your Dreams", which I've renamed (with the help of Siraaj, hafidhahullah) "Time Traveller" <-- that's British spelling.<br />
<br />
Are ya lovin' it? Here's the blog address where this is all going down:<br />

</div>Just wanted to thank brother Sami (<a href="http://www.facebook.com/nationbuilder.prime" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">http://www.facebook.com/<wbr></wbr>nationbuilder.prime</a>) who reminded me to remind you about fasting Sunday Dec.27, 2009 ~ Ashura, the 10th of Allah's sacred month of Muharram.<br />
<br />
The Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, was very keen to fast on this day - so we too should be keen to fast it.<br />
Ibn Abbas, radi Allahu 'anhu, said: “I never saw Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Aashooraa’, and this month, meaning Ramadaan.” - Bukhari<br />
<br />
The Arabic word for 10 is 'Asharah.<br />
Ashooraa' literally means: the TENTH, i.e. in this case the 10th of the Islamic calendar month of Muharram.<br />
When Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, moved to Madinah, he found the non-Muslims there celebrating on that day. Their reasoning? Because, they said, that this was the day Allah saved Musa from Fir'own.<br />
<br />
Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, responded by venerating this day through fasting, and commanded the Muslims to fast on this day as well. (But to be different from others by fasting an 'additional' day, before the 10th. But it's alright if you didn't fast Saturday Dec.26, you can still fast Ashura.)<br />
<br />
Action requested:<br />
*******************<br />
What: Fast on Ashura, which is the 10th of the Islamic calendar month of Muharram.<br />
Who: YOU :)<br />
When: Sunday, December 27, 2009 (From Fajr till Maghrib)<br />
Why: Because the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, did it, was very keen to do it, and encouraged his Ummah to do it. And because it wipes away the previous years sins.<br />
<br />
With best wishes to see you succeed at the highest level!<br />

When the memories have faded, all that will remain will be what you wrote.)</div><div><br /></div><div>Ok, so here is what happened:</div><div>I'm at the Ka'bah, praying Fajr.</div><div>I called someone on my mobile phone and was speaking out loud in English. People next to me could hear me speaking English.</div><div>Well...two funky dudes from Afghanistan were sitting beside me.</div><div><br /></div><div>When I completed the call, dude no.1 turns to me and says, "Where you from?"</div><div>I say, "Canada". </div><div>Done. Really didn't pay much attention to it, stuff like that happens all the time.</div><div>That was before the prayer.</div><div><br /></div><div>Fajr prayer, all is good.</div><div>Dude no.1 after Salah turns to me and says, so slowly and sincerely:</div><div><br /></div><div>"I am happy you are my brother."</div><div><br /></div><div>Shock. It was such a sweet thing to say. I was deeply touched.</div><div>He took out some 'Itr perfume oil and lathered me with it.</div><div>Smiled. Shook my hand. And was on his way.</div><div><br /></div><div>He was from Baluchistan.</div><div><br /></div><div>What emotions does this story evoke for you?</div>Muhammad Alshareefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15121516558676785213noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716818972127582948.post-71569309084928094382009-11-16T05:27:00.000-08:002009-11-16T05:27:00.431-08:00Divorce: Is missing Salah in the Masjid to blame?Ok, I have a hypothesis. It goes like this ...<br /><br />Most men nowadays are a bunch of girls. (We all heartily agree, yup).<br />[It's funny how I was single handedly able to insult both genders with that one sentence. *smile*]<br /><br />So, agreed men nowadays are a bunch of girls sitting at home not praying in the Masjid. (True, look at most Masjids, only a trickle of people are consistent)<br /><br />So ... with the men (not praying in Masjid) always in the face of the woman, she starts to get annoyed with him, like, "Do you think you could give me a little space, eh?"<br />And he's got cabin fever from praying in his closet for so long, he's like, "Dudette, I need a break from you."<br />She's like, "Why do you always leave the home and not want to be with me?"<br />He's like, "You just said to give you a little space?"<br />What? ARGH!!!<br /><br />(And so it goes).<br /><br />What if ....<br /><br />He goes out to Masjid.<br />She's like, "Are you going again? Stay home I miss you when your gone."<br />He's like: "Me too. But I'll be home soon honey with a mist of Eman on my face."<br />See ya. See ya.<br />Eternal Marriage bliss.<br /><br />This is my hypothesis.<br />What do you think?Muhammad Alshareefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15121516558676785213noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716818972127582948.post-34897704948982029502009-11-13T15:04:00.000-08:002009-11-13T15:04:00.032-08:00The sandals at the door dilemna?Ok, every human who has ever entered a Masjid on Jumu'ah has experienced this.<br /><br />The whole crowd rushes to the door. Or rather ... the sandal rack.<br />The first guy steps to the exit and ... DROPS his sandals on the concrete outside.<br />Then he stops, fumbles with his feet ... while TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE are waiting to leave the Masjid.<br /><br />Bottleneck.<br /><br />With a problem so common, you'd think all our Muslim engineers would have solved it by now?<br />C'mon you engineerians. Solve this dilemna for us.<br />How can we flow people out of the Masjid without creating a bottleneck??Muhammad Alshareefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15121516558676785213noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716818972127582948.post-74101480238386858502009-11-12T17:37:00.000-08:002009-11-12T17:41:03.787-08:00Open your mindThink of something.<br />Think the opposite.<br />And try to find ways in which you can make the opposite be true.<br /><br />Example:<br />Having students pay for tuition.<br />Opposite: PAY students to study.<br />How can you make this true: Provide scholarships.<br /><br />Another example:<br />Telling your Mother that you want to get married. Final exams are always a nice time to focus on the true exam of life.</div><div><br /></div><div>1. In school, you can often <b>redo</b> your exam if you fail. In the hereafter, if one fails there is <b>no going back</b>.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. In school, you often <b>do not know</b> what questions will be asked. In the hereafter, there are <b>only 3 question</b>s: Who is your Lord? What is your Deen? And who is this man who was sent to you? But the answers are answers you live by.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. In school, we <b>stay up at nigh</b>t to cram for the exam the next day. So too in Allah's exam, we should be staying up in <b>night prayers</b>.</div><div><br /></div><div>4. In school, we <b>pray and hope and work</b> for an outstanding mark. So too should be our attitude towards Allah's exam.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. In school, when we get a <b>great mark</b>, we erupt with happiness. So too will the believers <b>erupt in happiness</b> when they get their books in their right hands. Work for it.</div><div><br /></div><div>6. In school, when we get a bad mark, <b>sadness</b> can be seen on our faces, and we dislike to face others. So too in the hereafter. Protect yourself from that.</div><div><br /></div><div>7. During a school exam, you <b>cannot ask</b> anyone for help. In the hereafter, you can prepare from now to get assistance from Allah's Messenger, the Quran, and other ways of <b>intercession</b>.</div><div><br /></div><div>8. In school, when exam time draws near, we <b>banish distractions</b> to focus on what is really important. In Allah's exam, isn't <b>death within 1 heart beat?</b> Banish distractions and focus.</div><div><br /></div><div>9. In school, until exam results come out, we <b>worry</b> about the result. In Allah's exam, we <b>don't know what our result</b> will be, so we spend our days in hope and worry until the results come out.</div><div><br /></div><div>What do you think?</div><div>Do you have other reflections on exams?</div>Muhammad Alshareefhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15121516558676785213noreply@blogger.com88tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-716818972127582948.post-1266178176328796352009-11-09T08:04:00.000-08:002009-11-09T12:37:18.347-08:00A look at the first 10 Days...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG8hBLqkgGoRFp6neGTXy5yZRhBjN3kk0UNSrpCgAwEHSybAjHqsNOZ7YhGj2UR7YIfcVsMh0MXdO76Wxnx0BcS1Wi-SdmtIXASuCgitLxwY8B8mi9Id-CvRI5UgWxkD-HGNSdXgg6GGY/s1600-h/online-0002.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 187px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG8hBLqkgGoRFp6neGTXy5yZRhBjN3kk0UNSrpCgAwEHSybAjHqsNOZ7YhGj2UR7YIfcVsMh0MXdO76Wxnx0BcS1Wi-SdmtIXASuCgitLxwY8B8mi9Id-CvRI5UgWxkD-HGNSdXgg6GGY/s320/online-0002.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402205715499423538" /></a><br /><div>You are probably familiar with the last ten nights of Ramadan, and how virtuous those nights are?
